How to use the Drexel GPA calculator

Important: This profile is for the standard Drexel undergraduate GPA. Graduate programs and the Kline School of Law have separately governed academic and repeat rules, so do not use this undergraduate calculator to make an official decision for those records.
The calculator displays three decimal places for planning. Drexel’s Registrar says the official GPA is calculated to two decimal places and the result is not rounded up, so your official transcript may display a slightly different precision.

Quick answer: A Drexel F is not the same as an excluded CR, NCR, W, or unresolved INC. An F contributes zero grade points but its GPA-bearing credits still affect the denominator. Excluded marks contribute neither grade points nor GPA credits.
How Drexel GPA is calculated
For each GPA-bearing course, multiply the course credits by the grade-point value. Add those grade points, then divide by the total GPA-bearing credits.
GPA = total grade points ÷ total GPA-bearing credits
For example, a 4-credit A earns 16.00 grade points. A 3-credit B- earns 8.01. Together, the two courses produce 24.01 grade points across 7 credits, or about 3.430 in this planning calculator.
What happens to CR, NCR, incomplete, and withdrawn courses?
CR and NCR under Drexel’s Credit/No Credit option do not affect term or cumulative GPA. W and audit designations do not belong in the GPA calculation, and an unresolved INC is not treated as an ordinary zero-point grade. If an incomplete later becomes an I/F, or a GNS ultimately becomes N/F, the posted failure can then affect GPA.
This distinction matters for financial-aid progress: some marks that are excluded from GPA can still count as attempted but not completed credits for SAP. Do not use the GPA denominator as a substitute for the financial-aid completion-rate calculation.
Repeated courses and GPA adjustment
Calculator limitation: Drexel does not make every repeat an automatic grade replacement. Original and repeated grades are normally averaged unless an eligible undergraduate GPA-adjustment petition is approved, so the calculator does not offer an automatic Repeat Impact result.
Current Drexel guidance says the earliest attempt must have been C- or lower for the undergraduate GPA-adjustment option, and the latest attempt or attempts must meet the current policy timing and conditions. An original INC, W, CR, or NCR is not eligible under the listed conditions, and courses designed to be taken multiple times are treated differently.
If Drexel has already approved and processed your adjustment, the safest planning method is to use the adjusted cumulative GPA and its GPA-bearing credits from your official record as the calculator’s previous-GPA baseline.
Do transfer and study-abroad grades count?
External transfer grades do not enter the Drexel GPA even when the credits are accepted toward your degree. Advanced-placement credit likewise should not be converted into a made-up Drexel letter grade for GPA purposes.
Study abroad depends on the program. Drexel-sponsored exchange courses recorded as CR/NCR do not factor into GPA. Free-standing programs that post standard letter grades can factor into the Drexel GPA, so use the grade actually posted to your Drexel record rather than converting a foreign grade yourself.
